Symantec To Acquire LifeLock For $2.3B

Are we talking about the same LifeLock that was fined millions for false advertisement and then hit with a $100 million fine for failing to secure consumers' personal information and stop deceptive advertising practices? I was going to say Symantec must have money to burn but the article says they are taking out $750 million in new debt to make this deal happen.

"People’s identity and data are prime targets of cybercrime," said Symantec board chairman Dan Schulman. "The security industry must step up and defend through innovation and vigilance." LifeLock is best known for an advertising campaign touting its identity protection services which includes its former CEO Todd Davis sharing his social security number. A 2010 report from the Phoenix New Times claims since the ads, Davis had been a victim of identity theft at least 13 times.
