Oracle In Court Again Already

Oracle is in court again, this time as a defendant. HP Enterprise is demanding $3 billion in damages for the software maker's lack of support for Intel's Itanium processor. The case is expected to last several weeks.

A week after it lost an appeal seeking $9 billion from Google over its use of Java, the software giant is in court over a $3 billion suit by the former Hewlett Packard for allegedly damaging sales of HP personal computers. Acrimony in the Oracle-HP tete-a-tete runs deep and stretches back years, to a mega-merger and the fall of a Silicon Valley CEO, both in 2010. The jury trial is expected to last several weeks.
