U.K. Pledges Fast Broadband For All, Autonomous Vehicle Push

During her annual speech at the House of Lords in central London, the Queen pledged fast broadband for all and a push to make the United Kingdom a world leader in the digital economy. The Queen also wants the UK to be at the forefront of autonomous and electric vehicle development.

The U.K. plans to guarantee high-speed broadband access for every household and promote the use of autonomous and electric vehicles in an effort to be at the "forefront" of new technological advances. "Measures will be brought forward to create the right for every household to access high-speed broadband" in order to "make the United Kingdom a world leader in the digital economy," she said. "My ministers will ensure the United Kingdom is at the forefront of technology for new forms of transport, including autonomous and electric vehicles."
