"Get Windows 10" App To Be Removed From W7/8.1 After Upgrade Offer Ends

Following on the heels of the announcement that Windows 10 will no longer be free after July 29th, Microsoft has revealed it will be disabling the operating system's upgrade nag.

آ…after July 29th, Microsoft will begin removing the Get Windows 10 app from Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 machines. This is likely excellent news for Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 users who are not planning to upgrade to Windows 10, as it means there will be no more annoying upgrade prompts once the upgrade offer is over. Now, although Microsoft is refusing to comment on whether the upgrade offer will be extended before July 29th, there’s technically nothing stopping the company from changing its mind closer to the time. If that happens, then the Get Windows 10 app will like remain on Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 desktops until Microsoft begins charging for Windows 10 upgrades.
