Microsoft Teases Interactive Live Tiles For Windows 10

I’m surprised that interactive tiles are still in developmentآ—apparently, W10 was supposed to ship with them, and the concept isn’t exactly a radical one (I think it would be fair to compare them to widgets).

We've previously seen an "interactive tile view" concept that makes it easier to respond and interact with notifications within apps. Instead of tapping on a tile to reply to an email, you'd be able to scroll through your messages from within the Tile and reply inline. This would be particularly useful for apps like the calculator, so you'd never have to launch the full app. It's not clear whether Microsoft's research projects are the "two highly-requested" surprises, but we'll find out a lot more about Microsoft's Windows 10 plans next week at Build 2016.
