IBM Investing $3 Billion into New Computer Design

IBM is a very old technology company, but that fact doesn't stand in the way of forward thinking. IBM is investing $3 Billion dollars over the next five years to explore and develop computers that mimic human brain functions: a cognitive computer.

Silicon design has stalled and the ability to shrink chips is reaching its limit. IBM is looking at graphene, carbon nanotubes and other materials to replace silicon in computers, and will try to develop chips that can be scaled down to the atomic level.
