10M New Malware Strains Identified In 2013

How the hell can there be ten million new malware strains in a single year? That's like 27,000 new strains a day coming out. confused

Panda Security has published its Quarterly Report for the third quarter of 2013. The study focuses on malware, DNS poisoning attacks, mobile threats and NSA surveillance. As far as malware is concerned, the figures show that almost 10 million new malware strains have been identified so far in 2013. This is already higher than the total number of malware strains spotted last year, which means that we’re seeing a new record.
