US to Freeze Assets of Hackers and Deport Cyber Criminals

A new bill known as the Cyber Economic Espionage Accountability Act was introduced on Thursday; giving US authorities power to take severe actions against foreign nationals engaging in hacking or other forms of cybercrimes. The bill would impose restrictions on assets in the US, possible deportation from the US and denial of entry to the US if abroad.

"Theft of U.S. intellectual property is costing our economy an estimated $300 billion a year. It costs American jobs, innovation, and threatens national security," said Senator Ron Johnson. "It's time there are repercussions for these brazen acts taken by foreign actors.
