FCC Urges FAA: Let Passengers Run Gadgets During Takeoff

The FCC is urging a change in the rules to the FAA that will allow passengers to continue using their hand-held electronics during takeoff. The FAA could actually be on the verge of admitting there is no danger to the plane from electromagnetic interference, clearing the way for the Agency to join everyone else in the 21st century. wink

But as pressure to change the rules increasesآ—even from within the U.S. governmentآ—the FAA won't be able to drag its feet forever. Let's hope this is the beginning of the end of stowing away our gadgets during takeoff and landing.
