Google Plans to Launch Its Wireless Carrier Service in 2013

Google is reported to be hooking up with Dish Network to create a new wireless carrier service for primarily data-only, but will have voice and SMS capabilities. Google is preparing for a mid to late 2013 rollout of the new wireless service.

Google is launching its Glass smart eyewear in 2013, and would obviously profit from total control of a network. It's already obvious what can result from lack of full control of a wireless network: Google has seen services such as Google Wallet blocked by carriers such as Verizon.
