Apple Rethinking Samsung Chip Partnership

Call me sometime and we’ll do lunch: Just exactly how do giant corporations break their bonds of business? Apple has reportedly begun the process of working with Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) on the production of its chips and ramping down its association with Samsung.

"Apple is working with TSMC at 20 nanometers," said Gus Richard, a chip analyst at Piper Jaffray, referring to Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company's most advanced 20-nanometer (nm) manufacturing process.
