Riot Breaks Out at Foxconn's Taiyuan Plant

Five thousand police officers were called out to a Foxconn factory in China late Sunday night to stop what was called a riot or fight between 2k workers. The disruption lasted four hours with forty people taken to hospitals and an unknown number were detained by the police. The plant is now closed pending investigation. Thanks to TheWeazmeister for the linkage.

The Taiyuan plant, which employs about 79,000 workers, makes parts for automotive electronics and assembles various electronic devices, according to Woo. Other staff sources said it makes parts for and assembles Apple's new iPhone 5, released last week.
