EU Parliament Rejects ACTA

According to the Associated Press, the European Parliament has voted against ACTA, with only 39 in favor and 478 against.

Supporters said ACTA آ— the Anti-Counterfeiting Trade Agreement آ— was needed to standardize international laws that protect the intellectual property rights. Opponents feared it would lead to censorship and a loss of privacy on the Internet.
