Facebook Suit Over Subscriber Tracking Seeks $15 Billion

A class action suit was filed in federal court on Thursday against Facebook for invasion of privacy of 800 million users to the tune of $15 Billion. The suit alleges that Facebook continued tracking its member’s internet use even after logout from Facebook. It’s unclear whether the suit had an effect on Facebook’s IPO, which barely sustained its initial offering price through its first public trading day.

This is not just a damages action, but a groundbreaking digital-privacy rights case that could have wide and significant legal and business implications.
