New York Wants a Mandatory DNA Bank

Take that to the bank may soon have an entirely new connotation if a new law proposed by New York Governor Andrew Cuomo is enacted into law. The proposed bill would require convicted felons or those convicted of misdemeanors to have their DNA collected and added to the database.

Criminal acts expected to fall under the proposed mandatory DNA collection procedures include graffiti artists, turnstile jumpers, fortunetellers, and individuals who write bad checks
