Redbox Pulls a Netflix, Raises Prices

Redbox is raising prices on DVD rentals by 20%, making it $1.20 a day to rent a DVD. Blu-ray and game prices will remain the same. I'm not sure how this can be compared to Netflix's series of blunders but I guess we'll see if there is outcry over the additional $0.20.

Luckily for Redbox, its price hike isn't nearly as great as Netflix's. Starting on Monday, customers who want to rent DVDs from Redbox kiosks around the U.S. will need to pay $1.20 per day, rather than the $1 they previously paid. The 20 percent price hike won't affect Blu-ray or video game rentals, however, which will stay at $1.50 per day and $2 per day, respectively.
