Pentagon Opposes UN Regulation of the Internet

A resolution submitted to the U.N. General Assembly by Russia, China and several other countries calling for international code of conduct for information security is not supported by the Pentagon. The statement came from the head of the U.S. Cyber Command, General Keith Alexander.

According to Alexander, rather than seeking action by the UN, individual
countries need to step up and determine how securing critical infrastructure can be implemented without official regulation.
