EU Plan to Spend Billions on Boosting Broadband Speeds

The EU is planning on upgrading the infrastructure of broadband networks across Europe. To make the economy more competitive and to stimulate the European economy over a period of six years, the European Commission is recommending the expenditure of $12.6 Billion dollars to complete the upgrade. If the plan is approved by the European Parliament, the work would commence in 2014. Okay U.Sآ….. it’s time to step up to the plate. cool

It aims to get all European households on at least 30 megabits per second (Mbps) by 2020, with half the population enjoying more than 100Mbps, so as to make the continent more competitive and productive.
