HSN Brings QR Codes to TV Shopping

The Home Shopping Network will be testing the use of QR Codes (Quick Response) over a four day trial period to determine if the shopping network’s users are up to the technical challenge of their use.

Braff says that the biggest challenge is educating users about how to use QR codes. A sizable chunk of HSN’s viewers آ— most of whom are women in their 30s and 40s, according to third-party measurements آ— own smartphones and are aware of QR codes, but don’t know to use with them.
