Aircraft Can Increase Precipitation Around Major Airports

Well, here’s a new one for you. Have you ever noticed that it seems to rain more around airports than other areas? Researchers have noticed the weather changes and studied the cause, placing the blame squarely on the planes themselvesآ….I blame the TSA simply because they rain on everyone’s parade. big grin

The aircraft sets off a chain reaction in the cloud that can continue on for hours after it has passed by. Though "cloud seeding" has been studied and practiced for decades as a way to induce precipitation, it seems we’ve been doing it all along without noticing.
