Logitech G933 7.1 Wireless Headset Review

In our recent discussions about wireless headsets, the Logitech G933 has come up lately as one of the headsets to surely be on your $100 short list. So we bought a set, and have done a good bit gaming, movie watching, and music listening this past week and have a good hold on what the G933 is all about.

Logitech Artemis Spectrum G933 Wireless Headset

Artemis is the Greek goddess of hunting. A spectrum is a wide band of colors. Given the name "Artemis Spectrum," we have to assume that the Logitech G933 7.1 Surround Sound Wireless Headset is a product focused on gaming, that also does a bunch of other things well. At least that is our take.

Many folks in our recent "Best Wireless Headset for Gaming?" thread have mentioned liking the G933s. When the G933s turned up on Best Buy for $99.99, we went and purchased a set for testing. These are not on sale any more at Best Buy, however the G933s have since gone on sale at Amazon for $99.99.

The G933 is not even close to a new product. It has been out on the market for about two years and was originally priced at $200. The G933 was the replacement for the G930 model.

The G933 showed up on our doorstep in perfect shape. Worth mentioning is that Best Buy has free next day shipping as well and landed the box on my doorstep in less than 20 hours.

Below you can see the unboxing video we did last week. The G933 supports PC gaming as well as PS4 and Xbox One gaming, and comes with the cordage if you want to hardwire it to your console. It also does work wired with the PC through USB as well, should you not like the wireless connectivity. We only tested with these wirelessly however.

The G933 also showed up with charged battery so it is ready to go out of the box which is certainly nice.

The headset has a sturdy feel to it. It does not feel as strong as the Alienware AW988 we reviewed recently, but the G933 is also $130 less expensive. It does not however feel cheap in any way. It did not have any creaks for squeaks, and generally felt good all around in our hands.

The G933 is a wireless headset that uses a 2.4GHz USB dongle. It has 40mm drivers with a frequency response of 20Hz-20KHz with an impedance of 39 Ohms (active), and 5k Ohms (passive). Sensitivity is listed at 107dB SPL/mW. It has a 4mm unidirectional Cardioid mic with a frequency response of 100Hz - 20KHz.

The battery time is listed at 12 hours, but is cut to 8 hours if you use the Frag Harder Disco Lights.
