Official Architecture Presentation

We are now going to post the entire Vega 10 Architecture Presentation so you are aware of all the features of this new Vega architecture. A point worth noting is that Vega has the most complete support for DX12 in terms of support of features. All of the tiered features are supported at maximum Tier 3 levels, and several optional DX12 feature are supported that were not before. This shows that Vega has undergone feature level improvements.

AMD Radeon RX Vega GPUs have an improved display engine with 4K 120Hz HDR support. DisplayPort 1.4 with HBR3, MST and HDR formats are supported. HDMI 2.0/1.4b at up to 4K 60Hz with 12-bit HDR and 4:2:0 encoding is supported. Two displays are now supported at 4K 120Hz without HDR. With HDR 3 displays at 4K 60Hz is supported and 1 display at 4K 120Hz with HDR.

Software

In software, there are going to be some new performance and power saving features. Under Radeon WattMan there are going to be performance/Watt Profiles. It seems there are "Power Save", "Balance", "Turbo" and "Custom" performance profile options. This seems related to what use to be the percentage power limit option. It seems under "Turbo" the Power Profile increases to 115% on both Vega 64 GPUs. "Balanced" looks like to be the default setting at 100% Power Profile. "Power Save" reduces the Power Profile, but will also reduce performance.
