Mysterious RED Hydrogen Smartphone Coming This Summer

Since it's announce back in July of 2017, not much has been revealed about the RED Hydrogen smartphone. Aside from a preview video here, and a little tidbit of the technology that drives its holographic display there, RED has been rather quiet about its first flagship smartphone. Today Android Authority is reporting that the Hydrogen will be launching in August, and will be available on AT&T, as well as Verizon. Between Android Authority and cNet, we get a little more info. The Hydrogen will have a 5.7" holographic 2,560 x 1,440 screen, a Snapdragon 835 processor, 4,500mAh battery, USB-C, a MicroSD slot, as well as a headphone jack, and the most interesting feature is the modular attachments that can be snapped onto the back. For pricing, you're looking at $1,595 for the titanium version, and $1,195 for the aluminum.

The phone will launch on the network "later this summer," AT&T revealed. The holographic (4V) display means users can "look around, below and into the screen's image" without the aid of special glasses. The display resolution tops out at 2,560 x 1,440 otherwise, which should be more than sufficient for your 2D video needs.
