R&D Spending Surge: Apple Is Working on Something Massive

What could Apple be working on that the R&D budget has increased upwards of $500 Million since last summer? Whatever it is, it’s big, really big and eclipses the R&D expense for both the iPhone and the Apple Watch.

Looking at the recent jump in R&D, I suspect we are seeing the early stages of Apple beginning to add talent and processes for future personal transportation initiatives.
