Facebook to Debut Own Search Tool on Monday

Facebook has been steadily improving its own search engine for a while now and lately has been dropping some major hints about the service. I guess Facebook felt it was about time for the other shoe to drop and that shoe was Bing Search. A report from Reuters has Facebook dropping Bing in favor of the in-house Facebook Search with the official announcement coming on Monday.

Facebook was using Bing to produce search results as its in-house search engine, allowing Facebook users to look for more information about their friends. Selecting Bing as a partner was also a way for Facebook to keep rival Google's search engine away from the social network.
