Microsoft Endorses Workaround for Botched Windows Patch

Lately, Microsoft has been having a difficult time in releasing patches that actually stick and spend an inordinate amount of time issuing fixes to patches. InfoWorld reports that this time a workaround didn’t come from Microsoft, but from a third party. In the company’s infinite wisdom, the powers that be have decided to endorse the fix to the latest snafu.

To alleviate this problem on Windows 8 and Windows Server 2012 based systems, please export and delete the following registry value, reboot your system and then re-attempt the update.
