Happy 20th Anniversary to the Invention of the Blog

No one knew 20 years ago when Dave Winer sat down at his computer and banged out what would become the world’s first prototype of the blog, exactly how big the phenomenon would become. Originally named the Davenet, the blog has come to change the way the Internet interacts.

Twenty years ago this week, a software developer in California ushered in a new era in how we communicate. His name is Dave Winer and on 7 October 1994 he published his first blog post.
