ASUS Announces Strix R9 285 Gaming Graphics Card

Performance, totally silent operation and energy efficiency in a compact package, is now available in an ASUS Strix R9 285 gaming graphics card. At its core is AMD’s newest and most power-efficient GPU yet آ– the 28nm Tonga Pro, which has been optimized and re-engineered and deliver more performance at lesser wattage over its predecessor, the Tahiti Pro. It has XDMA CrossFire technology so an external connector is no longer needed in order to push enough FPS to get the best out of Eyefinity or an Ultra HD 4K display. TrueAudio DSP allows you to take load off the CPU, and leave audio processing tasks to the DSPs instead to enhance manageability and performance.

The ASUS Strix R9 285 has 1792 stream processors, 112 TMUs, 32 ROPs, 2GB of ultra-fast GDDR5 video memory running across a 256-bit interface at 1375MHz (5.5GHz effective), and the core clock has been factory-overclocked to 954MHz. Video outputs are abundant with a DVI-I, a DVI-D, an HDMI, and a DisplayPort. The dimensions of the card are 10.6 X 5.5 X 1.6 inches (27 X 14 X 4.1 cm) and two 6-pin connectors are required to power it.
