Google to Offer Street View Tour of Statue of Liberty Soon

Preparations are now underway for Google to add Liberty Island and the Statue of Liberty to Google Street View. Liberty Island is under the domain of the National Park Service, where the gears of progress often grind very slowly, taking Google quite a while to secure permission to map the Island and the Statue.

So whether you’re a tourist or a New Yorker or someone who just wants to see it up close, in the coming months everyone will be able to take a tour of the island and appreciate the statue’s history and beauty in 360-degree imagery.
