Microsoft Releases Fix for Windows Update Corruption Errors
Microsoft has released an out of hand update to address a problem with the Windows Update System. The update can be downloaded directly from Microsoft by following the KB947821 link.
This update is a tool which checks the system for these problems and tries to resolve them. This fix may appear at some point in Windows Update itself, but it is not there as of today.
