First Ubuntu Phones Are Coming Soon

Although support for the Ubuntu phone fizzled out on Kickstarter, Canonical pushed ahead with plans to bring the Ubuntu-powered smartphone to market. Canonical has partnered with Meizu and bq, two large OEM’s that will help bring the phone to customers before the end of the year.

Ubuntu introduces a new UI paradigm for mobile devices. Ubuntu puts content and services at the center of the experience, rather than hiding them behind stores and apps.
