IRS: Don't Call Us, Look It Up On IRS.Gov

This would qualify as a PSA for both the beleaguered IRS and all of the tax filers out there. The IRS is making a plea to the tax filing public, to expedite the tax filing process and to save the tax payers time and frustration, the tax agency is strongly urging citizens to avoid calling the IRS or visiting the IRS office and make use of the IRS.gov website for both speed and ease of filing.

Along with phone service, the IRS has cut back services at its walk in Taxpayer Assistance Centers, where lines can be long.
