Microsoft Plots Its Own Tracking Technology

Microsoft will be joining other industry leaders in saying a hearty goodbye to the tracking cookie and developing an internal tracking system that will span across desktop computers, Windows smartphones, tablets and Xbox.

Microsoft's plans are in the early stages with no clear picture on when the replacement would complete its roll-out across all devices, though Xbox is said to be on the latter end of that roadmap.
