Russia Plans State-Backed Web Search Engine

I guess this would be a good time to say "In Mother Russia, Search Engine search you", or maybe not. big grin The Russian government must have an Ace or two up its sleeve if plans to run a state-backed search engine against search engine giants Yandex and Google and expect to lure away their users, but stranger things have happened in Russia lately.

Russia, with the largest internet audience in Europe, has increased state control over the Web, including launching a black list of sites distributing content such as child pornography, but which critics said could boost censorship.
