Punch Cards: How Much Space Would Google Need?

Interesting question was posed about punch cards….you may or may not remember them if you are young. Punch cards were the state of the art industry standard for information storage for many decades. If technology had not progressed as it did, we would be facing what could be called a storage conundrum of the highest magnitude.

Let's assume Google has a storage capacity of 15 exabytes, or 15,000,000,000,000,000,000 bytes. A punch card can hold about 80 characters, and a box of cards holds 2000 cards.
