Google’s Chrome App Launcher is Now Live for Windows
The Google App Launcher has made its way through Dev Channel testing and has gone live to Windows. Originally created by Google for use with Chrome OS, the new App Launcher is now operational on Windows 7 and 8, with OS X release close behind. Google has made no official comment, preferring to keep the release low-key and quiet for the time being.
At first glance the App Launcher is nothing more than a collection of links that load on your browser. But with the introduction of packaged apps and desktop notifications, Google is slowly building something that could be seen as a more serious threat to established desktop platforms.
