Acer Ditching Cheap eMachines PC Brand
We bid a fond farewell to the last of the eMachines as Acer shuts down production to re-focus attention on Gateway and Packard Bell production. eMachines was created in 1998 to fill an economic gap in the PC market by offering a cheaper brand with less bells and whistles.
Gateway’s laptops, desktops and displays are now being sold in the Americas and Asia-Pacific, while Packard Bell products are sold in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
