Hacker Behind Stratfor Attack Faces Life in Prison

The legal system is beginning to respond to the seriousness of recent hackings into businesses and the exposure of corporate and personal records to the Internet. This case concerns the information hacked from intelligence company Strategic Forecasting by LulzSec, an offshoot of Anonymous.

Judge Loretta Preska told Hammond in a Manhattan courtroom on Tuesday that he could be sentenced to serve anywhere from 360 months-to-life if convicted on all charges relating to last year’s hack of Strategic Forecasting.
