Smartphone Sales Overtake PCs for the First Time

It’s been coming, we all knew it would, but we just didn’t think it would come quite this fast. The personal computer has been usurped by the smartphone in overall sales in 2011. That’s really an amazing accomplishment in such a short span of time that we have been using the smartphone compared to the overall lifespan of the PC.

Of course, this doesn’t mean PCs are dead. The global PC market grew 15% in 2011
