What beats the old standard exploding volcano project as a science project? The standard answer would be anything. 
Enter Manuja Gunaratne and his trashbags. The high school senior managed to cobble together a handful of trashbags, a digital camera and a GPS tracking device to take 2000 high altitude aerial photos during its 3 hour flight. Not bad, kid. Not bad at all.
