Windows 7 Exceeds Windows XP Market Share

It looks as though Windows 7, at least for one day last month, exceeded Windows XPs market share. If these latest numbers are indeed correct, this is a dramatic shift in the numbers we posted here just one month ago.

Thanks to the corporate market that heavily relies on Windows XP systems even more than 10 years after the operating system’s launch, Windows 7 has surpassed XP market share on a single day for the first time. According to StatCounter, Windows 7 posted 40.14% share on August 28 versus 39.2% for Windows XP. During weekdays, XP still has a 4 point lead, which explains that the old operating system has still the edge in the monthly average.
