Microsoft Gets Antitrust Approval to Buy Skype

Well it’s official now, the Federal Trade commission has approved the deal for Microsoft to purchase Skype. The $8.5B acquisition of the Internet phone service was announced in May and was awaiting FTC approval. The approval process moves to the Department of Justice. Maybe very soon we will know what Microsoft has up its sleeve.

Skype has 145 million users on average each month and has gained favor among small businesses.
