Honda Hacked: 283,000 Car Owners Lose Personal Data

The year 2011 may go down in the books as the year of the hack if trends continue. The latest victim of unauthorized entry was Honda Canada Inc. which confirmed the intrusion on Thursday and reported it to the police. Honda joins several other large corporations that have been hacked recently.

Chenkin said federal and provincial privacy commissions were notified and customers were warned of the breach "as soon as possible."
