U.S. Lagging in Broadband Adoption, Speed: FCC Report
About every quarter a report is released by the FCC reminding us just how far behind the US is to other developed countries. Improving the broadband landscape across the US is a priority of the FCC, but continues to lag behind in the adaptation. Rubbing our noses in the facts is not helping to get the job completed.
For instance, average download speed was found to be 11.7 Mbps in New York with a population of nearly 8.4 million people compared with 35.8 Mbps for the 10 million residents of Seoul, South Korea, the report said.
