DOJ Ends Ten Years of Microsoft Oversight

Microsoft is finally getting out from under the close scrutiny of the Department of Justice. The DOJ has decided that as of May 12th, Microsoft Corporation no longer will be bound to the 2001 agreement of oversight. Times have changed in the past 10 years and Microsoft is not the same monopoly oriented company it once was.

More practically, has stated it will continue to follow all of the rules laid down by the DOJ. Separate agreements Microsoft has reached with the EU or any other nation will continue to be in effect.
