Text Messages to Replace Stamps in Sweden

In Sweden, you can now pay for postage by sending a text the post office and they will text you back a code to write on the outside of the envelope. We have a similar system in the U.S., we just text the person we were going to write a letter to. stick out tongue

The Swedish postal service plans to give customers' tongues a rest by allowing them to pay their postage via mobile phone text message instead of stamps. A similar system is set for launch in Denmark on April 1st allowing users to send a text message, prompting a special code to be sent back. The code is then written down on the letter and serves as proof of the postage having been paid.
