5M Australians Illegally Downloaded Films

Wait a minute, this study claims that 1 in 4 Australians are illegally downloading movies? Think about that claim for a second, they are trying to say that one quarter of the country (not just computer users) are pirating movies. What the?!?

The research by Sphere Analysis was commissioned by the Australian Content Industry Group. It shows that in 2010 4.7 million Australians accessed online content illegally. That number would soar to 6.5 million people by 2016, ''taking into account the potential impact of the National Broadband Network''.
