Netflix Supports Closed Captions on Streaming Media

Netflix has taken up the challenge to increase the present 30% streaming content which supports closed captioning/subtitles to 80% by this summer. The additional content will come by increasing the number of devices that support hearing impaired captioning. This would only apply to media that already have active subtitles. Netflix is also in the process of creating subtitles for its entire media library, but that is a long term project.

Chapman determined that it would take until November 17, 2023 to have all streaming content captioned at Netflix's current rate.
