Notebook Components in Short Supply
If you are looking for a new notebook computer, you may be on hold for a few months. The demand for critical components is high right now, with production being diverted to the more lucrative handheld markets. It’s an unfortunate turn, but it’s a supply and demand scenario, with the handhelds winning this round.
Acer and Hewlett-Packard (HP) reportedly noticed the CIS supply problem at internal meetings in January, pushing HP to take supplies from SETi.
