Motorola Xoom Preorders on February 17th

The specs on Motorola’s Xoom tablet are quite impressive…..and so is its price tag. The reportedly leaked in-house price from Best Buy is a staggering $1199.99. The price had been estimated to be in the $800 range so as to stay competitive with the $799 Apple iPad. This could be an advertising ploy to attract attention to the preorder opening date or merely just an advertising pricing error. Truth be known on Thursday.

We'll wait to see if that $1,199.99 number sticks. But for those hoping for a strong iPad competitor, that price certainly wouldn't bode well, especially with the iPad 2 just weeks away from being announced.
